CH3 Babel (Legends of the Fall)

Today, we look at the Tower of Babel. The people of Babel were proud of their tower, but the language in the Bible shows that God was not impressed with their works. Genesis 11:5 But the LORD came down to see the city and the tower that the men were building. Sometimes we are so impressed with our own works that we think God has to also be impressed, but no matter how good we think we are, we cannot earn God’s favor.

From Series: "Legends Of The Fall"

We spent twelve weeks during the summer going through a series called Coloring Book All Stars, about the heroes you would find in children's bible coloring books. Legends of the fall is the inversion, the negative, of that. Legends of the Fall is a time where we will look at the bad guys, the non-hero's, found in the Scriptures. Every once in a while you may find them in the coloring book, but not always in a positive light (and that is probably a good thing). We will look at how, even with all of their flaws and scars, they resemble us. We will also look at how Jesus has rescued us, by His grace, from the fall.
