Two: Holy Spirit Blasphemy (What In The World? Part 2)

This is Week 2 in our “What in the World?” Part 2 series where we tackle different biblical passages or questions that make us say “What in the world does that mean?” The question this week is: “What in the world is the Blasphemy of the Holy Spirit?” In the New Testament, Blasphemy of the Holy Spirit is also called the unpardonable or unforgivable sin. As we will see, by the very words of our Lord Jesus Himself, He states that there is an unforgivable sin, and it is to blaspheme or speak against the Holy Spirit.

From Series: "What In The World"

What in the World is all about those things in the bible that makes us scratch our heads and say, “what in the world?” Like when Jesus says, “Hate your father and mother,” or the Apostle Paul says not to “touch a woman,” it should make us ask, “What in the world is that there for?” During this series we will look at some of Element’s “What in the World” questions while also giving you a chance to fill out some 3X5 cards on Sundays or an online form here, to ask us your own “What in the World” questions. Next summer (2017) we will revisit this series and answer the questions that you ask us on those 3X5 cards. This is all in an effort to help us understand that when we run across things in the bible that are hard, there are still answers and we can trust God as we live on mission with Him in the world.
