This week’s question is: “Why is Paul rejoicing that people are proclaiming Christ out of selfish ambition?” Last week Aaron reminded us that the story of the Bible is about an ultimate love story between a kindly intentioned Creator and us, His creation. All of the Bible is written by God and is for our teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness. Our Creator’s words written through the Apostle Paul have an important message for us even (and maybe especially) when we wonder, “What in the world?”

From Series: "What In The World"

What in the World is all about those things in the bible that makes us scratch our heads and say, “what in the world?” Like when Jesus says, “Hate your father and mother,” or the Apostle Paul says not to “touch a woman,” it should make us ask, “What in the world is that there for?” During this series we will look at some of Element’s “What in the World” questions while also giving you a chance to fill out some 3X5 cards on Sundays or an online form here, to ask us your own “What in the World” questions. Next summer (2017) we will revisit this series and answer the questions that you ask us on those 3X5 cards. This is all in an effort to help us understand that when we run across things in the bible that are hard, there are still answers and we can trust God as we live on mission with Him in the world.
