The most amazing thing about the cacophony of voices in laminations is that it is something God Himself experienced. The messiness of what life really is. And yet in the darkest place…“there is yet hope.” That is the beauty of the gospel…it calls to us in the most brutal and raw of situations and says “God can bring redemption.”
One of the recurring questions from the book of Lamentations is "who can heal you?" In the New Testament, when Jesus arrives on the scene, this question is plainly answered then as it is today. Jesus redeems, He heals, He renews, He restores. As we go through the book of Lamentations you may have many questions about the misery of not only the book, but also the hard times in your life. Scripture is constantly pointing somewhere, to someone, who can heal us. It is Jesus.
