GOSPEL COMMUNITY LEADER DEVELOPMENT
Hi leaders,
While resources have previously been shared in the Community Group Leaders group in Church Center, we wanted this page to serve as a more centralized place for you to access resources and tools for ongoing development.
As mentioned in the support plan for GCs this year, we are experimenting with a “continuing education” type model, where you’ll be expected to engage in a certain amount of development for the year. There’s flexibility in how/when you do this, and various formats are available (live trainings, videos, podcasts, articles, etc.).
Our hope and prayer is not that you would find this burdensome, but that these tools/resources would be inspiring, encouraging, and motivating as you consider how to lead your Gospel Community and equip those in your group to be disciple-makers.
In considering what to focus on, you may want to consider areas of growth related to how we understand mission:

Webinars
- Decentralized Discipleship (1 hr): Listen to what we can learn from the global Church on discipleship in the everyday.
- Everyday Mission in the Future (1 hr): How will the Church engage with the world in the age of post-Christendom?
- Counseling in Community Training (~3 hours total among 3 parts): This training by Jon and Michelle covers how to move toward others’ hearts, conveying the love, truth, and compassion of Jesus.
- Saturate: Disciple-Making Workshop (2.5 hours)
- Disciple-Making Pathway (12-Part Video Series ~ 2 hours total): With each video in this series averaging about 10 minutes long, this series can easily be broken up over time. Jeff Vanderstelt uses Paul’s process laid out in Acts 13-14 as a model for discipleship. Topics include Gospel Foundation, Gospel Proclamation, and Everyday Rhythms—showing how discipleship can happen in everyday life in everyday relationships.
